The Sustainable Groundwater Management Act has changed how we do business, and as a result we need to raise rates. In order to raise rates, CID must conduct an election through what is known as a Prop 218 Process.
For CID, a Prop 218 election consists of landowners voting for or against the assessment rate increase by casting ballots. By now, all CID Landowners should have received a ballot packet. Included in the packet is the ballot, a return self-addressed stamped envelope, ballot instructions and Public Notice.
Votes will be counted at a Public Hearing scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on November 13, 2018, at the Kearney Ag Station, 9240 S. Riverbend Avenue, Parlier CA 93648. If you wish to comment on this matter, you are invited to do so at the public hearing.

You can cast your ballot three ways: - Prior to the public hearing on November 13, 2018, you may mail your own ballot in the enclosed self-addressed stamped envelope. Prior to the public hearing on November 13, you may hand deliver your own ballot to the District Secretary at the Consolidated Irrigation District’s office, 2255 Chandler Street, Selma, CA 93662.
- Hand-delivered ballots will also be accepted at the hearing prior to its conclusion.
- In any event, ballots MUST be received by CID no later than the conclusion of the public hearing, which starts at 10:00 a.m. on November 13, 2018.
- Late ballots delivered after the conclusion of that public hearing will not be counted.

After the public hearing, the Provost & Pritchard Consulting Group will tabulate the ballots, which will be weighted accordingly. Results will be posted in the District’s office as soon as practical and on the CID website, www.cidwater.com.
