Message to Our Readers

It seems like yesterday that it was only January and now here we are, in the middle of the busy holiday season. We are fortunate to live in a region that literally feeds the world. We are grateful for our farmers that overcome immense obstacles to produce the food we eat and do so safely. Sometimes, even in our farming communities, people need a hand up, and that is especially true during the holidays. There are a number of local charities that need help now and throughout the year.

If you are looking for ways to give back this holiday season, here are a few local charities to consider:
• Salvation Army -
• Sanctuary Youth Shelter -
• Kingsburg Community Assistance Program and Services -

Since the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act was approved, CID’s Board of Directors and staff have identified a number of projects that will address SGMA compliance, groundwater basin sustainability and deferred maintenance. We will share those projects with you as we move forward.
