FEATURE STORY

NetHope welcomes Liz Bronder as new Interim CEO

Leadership plays a pivotal and important role in guiding an organization. Throughout NetHope’s 19-year journey, the organization has evolved and strengthened. Now we are taking a new step in our future. We are pleased to welcome Liz Bronder as NetHope’s interim CEO. Liz’s commitment to the organization’s cause runs deep and true and is evidenced by her 2-year history with NetHope. She served as NetHope’s Board Vice Chair; chaired the Development Committee, where she interacted with NetHope’s partners; and she was a member of the Executive and Program Committees. Liz also brings 26 years of deep experience at the International Finance Corporation.

NETHOPE GLOBAL SUMMIT 2020

This year's Global Summit theme is Collective Action. Sustainable Impact. The NetHope community shares a commitment to applying the power of technology–with a focus on digital–to the problems and potential of humanity. But technology is only as good as the human intention behind it. Through a responsible, shared vision and cross-sector collaboration, we are co-creating a humane, equitable, and sustainable future for our world. We hope you join us for this exceptional week held at the InterContinental Berlin

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the globe, we are monitoring its effects and impact on the work of our NetHope members. NetHope will make judgments concerning meetings and workshops based on the latest recommendations of the World Health Organization and other monitoring agencies. The health and safety of participants is our major concern and we want to ensure that we are following the latest guidelines available.

We also recognize that our members and partners are making their own decisions about their staff travel restrictions which could affect attendance at in-person, NetHope-hosted events. Some have already instituted international travel restrictions for now. Looking ahead, as the NetHope Global Summit approaches, October 26-30, in Berlin, we will update you on its status.

DISASTER RESPONSE TRAININGS POSTPONED

Due to concerns about COVID-19 and travel restrictions, the Disaster Response Training scheduled for next week in Dubai and a partner training in April in Georgia, USA, have been postponed. We continue to monitor the situation and will be in contact with relevant members, partners, and training staff once we have additional information.
