Security Guide

The biggest security threat to your business is on your payroll

Did you know there is a high probability that an inside attack will be the culprit for breaching your business’s data?

Most inside attacks are accidental, such as a well-meaning employee clicking on a bad link by mistake. However, some attacks are malicious, perpetrated by bad actors who deliberately look to damage your business or to make a profit.

Both of these kinds of attacks can be minimized and even prevented by focusing on five key areas in your IT strategy. Check out our new guide to assess the preparedness of your business.

Congratulations to VNET Newsletter subscriber Philip C. who was selected at random after responding to our trivia question from our June newsletter. He will receive a $25.00 gift card to The Original Popcorn House. Thanks to everyone who emailed an answer, and be sure to read through this month's newsletter for our latest contest! (The correct answer for June was the "SPAM" sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus.

10 Technology Tips from a Student

As a student, I can tell you that my peers and I have had to adjust to new technology as it has come throughout our lifetimes. Although our technological intuition typically allows us to adapt to changes fairly easily, we’ve certainly had to learn some lessons the hard way, especially with our use of technology in school. Now, I’m passing along a few of those lessons so that you can avoid some of the frustration that tech tends to bring. Here goes!

Microsoft 365 Tip

If you ever need an extra quick response to a message in Teams, you can click on the exclamation point at the bottom of the screen before you send it. Select “Urgent” to give the recipient a notification every two minutes for twenty minutes. But make sure the setting is off before you send any other messages!
