Governor Ron DeSantis Activates Emergency Business Damage Assessment Survey for Coronavirus (COVID-19)
 
Governor Ron DeSantis announced the activation of the Business Damage Assessment survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on Florida’s local business operations. The survey, managed by the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO), will evaluate businesses affected by COVID-19 and the impacts the virus has had on the local economy so actions to implement appropriate relief programs can begin. 

 
 
CDC Guidance for Businesses and Employers
 
This interim guidance is based on what is currently known about the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will update this interim guidance as needed and as additional information becomes available.

U.S. House Passes Coronavirus (COVID-19) Paid FMLA Law and Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act: An Employee Guide
 

Over the weekend, the U.S. House of Representatives passed sweeping legislation designed to assist a large segment of the nation’s workforce whose ability to work is or may become impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Although the U.S. Senate is expected to approve House Bill 6201, and the President is expected to sign the legislation into law, employers should recognize that the House bill is not the final word on the matter.
