Tourism Manager

Here's wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! Hoping you get the opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall foliage that we are so lucky to have right here in our very own yards. It is also the last weekend that Brockville's railway tunnel is open this year. As of Monday October 10th, the tunnel's regular operations will be closed for the winter season. Not to worry though, below you'll find lots to do in the upcoming weeks!

If you haven't had a chance to check out the resources page for stakeholders on the Brockville Tourism website, I should let you know that there have been some recent uploads to the media library, and there are some fabulous fall photos available to you!

A series of incidents warn of an ominous future as a mysterious illness threatens their community. Claire’s beloved cousin, Stephanie Porter, faces tragedy amidst the puzzling disappearance of her husband, Todd. He is a senior executive, and Roger’s boss, at a local health care products company, which is racing to find a cure for the illness. The mystery deepens as local pets disappear and the integrity of local law enforcement comes under siege. Roger, Claire and Stephanie struggle to unravel the mystery of Todd’s disappearance, while threats to their lives and secrets that surround them undermine the trust they hold in everything they cherish.

Please see the following email for tourism stakeholders welcoming group tours via the travel trade industry.

Hello all,

Annual conferences have begun for group tour associations.  As I prepare appointments with tour operators please take a moment and let me know what’s new for 2023.  Do you have new programming?  Is there a new group contact at your venue?  Most of the operators are US and Canadian tour operators with some international tour agencies working with FITs.  We will be facing world-wide competition for visitors as tourism makes a global recovery.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Please also see the below email for tourism stakeholders within our region to partner with the Frontenac Arch Biosphere and their new program.

I am reaching out to you today on behalf of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network (FABN) in regards to an exciting opportunity for your local businesses in the tourism industry!

FABN and partners have recently created the Sustainable Tourism Program and Destination website through the assistance of the Tourism Relief Fund. This new Eco Destination Website will feature your local businesses in the innovative form of Geo-Mapping (GIS Mapping) and story-maps throughout this stylized website offered to your community businesses at no cost. This is an incredible opportunity for the tourism industry to gain new knowledge on growing eco trends in tourism, as well as benefit from the exposure this new website will provide!

Please see this letter Letter to our Chambers as it pertains to the new Sustainable Tourism Program and Eco Destination Website: Fabexperiences.ca - We are thrilled to be able to offer registration to all businesses which fit into the criteria guidelines as outlined in the document; Eligibility Criteria.

We have created a document for you to share with your members with more information on the program and how to register here: Letter to Businesses, as well as our press release and promotional video

We thank you for your support in this beneficial program and ask that you please reach out to us with any questions you might have!

We are stronger together, under one arch.
