Industry News & Opportunities
 

 

The Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO) has partnered with GreenStep Solutions to support the industry with measuring its sustainability performance, based on internationally-recognized standards for sustainable tourism.
Take the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge, then commit to measuring and improving your business’ sustainability score between now and 2030. GreenStep will provide tools and resources to gently guide you along the way.

 

 
 
 

 

RTO 9’s Partnership Fund initiative is designed to introduce new tourism products and build on existing tourism products that enhance the region’s diversity of tourism attractions. This program’s estimated allocation is $219,000.00 from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport.
There are 3 categories to apply under:

  1. New Events
  2. Development of Indigenous Tourism Product
  3. Development of Guided Experiences or Trails

The application period is now open until March 3, 2023.

Brockville Tourism is hosting Social Media Workshops just for our stakeholders!
 
Social media is an essential part of marketing your business to visitors. Many visitors even use social media as a search engine to find new places to explore!
 
We are hosting two free workshops to help local tourism operators improve their Facebook and Instagram accounts to appeal to more visitors.
 
 
 
Getting Started with Social Media for your Tourism Business
February 22, 1pm
This workshop will be in-person at the Aquatarium boardroom and is limited to 8 attendees. It is intended for beginners to social media however please have a Facebook and/or Instagram account set up for your business before the workshop. 
 
 
Using Social Media to Boost your Tourism Business
March 8, 1pm
This workshop will be online and is for those who are active on social media but have room to grow. You will learn strategies on how to attract new visitors to your business.
