April is finally here and the good news keeps rolling in! I was speaking to some of our tourism operators recently and I'm thrilled to say that 1000 Island & Seaway Cruises will start weekend operations May 5th, 1000 Islands Treetop Trekking is planning on opening for May 6th, and the Farmers' Market begins that first Saturday in May too! Warmer days ahead!

If you have any news you'd like for Brockville Tourism to announce for you, please let me know by replying to this email and I am happy to do that for you!

Want to address the group of 368 stakeholder newsletter followers? We can send that out for you too!

If you have any events planned for 2023, please make sure you input them into our events calendar here:

Experience Ontario 2023: Funding Available

The government is investing $19.5 million in one-time funding through the Experience Ontario 2023 program to provide support to in-person festivals and events with a tourism economic impact to motivate visitors to rediscover Ontario.

Applicants are eligible to apply for a grant of up to 50% of total eligible costs to a maximum of $125,000.

Applications will be measured against program criteria and, as such, there is no guarantee of funding.

Social Media Tips

As we head into the busy tourism season, we will be sharing weekly social media tips to help enhance your online presence and appeal to visitors.

Weekly Tip: Use the Collaboration Feature on Instagram

Partnering with another business on an event or special offering? Use the Instagram Collaboration tool to reach a larger audience!

When making a post, instead of "tagging" another business, add them as a Collaborator instead. This way the post will appear in both feeds at the same time and reach both sets of followers.
