Opportunities Available to Volunteer or Assist Students

If you wish to volunteer in the community or help some students with a research project, keep reading.

The Oral Health Sciences Master’s Program is a research-intensive program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. In this program, students work on diverse research projects to improve oral health and health. One of the missions of the OHS-MS projects is to link research and patient care. OHS-MS students are searching for local dentists who could collaborate with them to provide care for the Delonis Center Residents -- adults experiencing homelessness in our community. Many of them are Medicare-insured but have very little access to care. To learn more about this Delonis volunteer opportunity, contact Dr. Elisabeta Karl.

Also, senior dental hygiene students and their faculty adviser are requesting you take a survey which is designed to investigate the different therapies offered for temporomandibular joint disorders treatment by dental professionals in southeast Michigan. This information may ultimately help provide a research base of interprofessional relationships between dental providers and chiropractors. Participation in this confidential survey is completely voluntary and all responses will be kept confidential. This survey consists of 18 questions and is estimated to take five to 10 minutes to complete. Completing this survey acts as your consent to participation in this study. You may exit the survey at any time with no repercussions. To access the survey, please click below.
