The Executive Update
November 2018

Dear Juan,

"As we approach the end of what has been a highly eventful if somewhat turbulent year in the history of South Africa, it’s time to look back on an amazingly productive time for Signatura, and forward to a period of stabilisation and growth in the near future.

"The process of handing over apartments to new owners at The Onyx, our most prestigious project to date, is now well underway – and the general reaction has been one of amazement and delight at the quality of the building, with its gleaming marble foyer, sophisticated interior design and full suite of hotel services, which include a gym, pool, restaurant and spa.

"The quality of the development has been recognised abroad at the recent International Property Awards in Dubai, where The Onyx was honoured with no fewer than three awards, including the sought-after Five Star Award for the Best Residential Development in South Africa. The Onyx has now been entered into the global awards held in London in December.

OUR NEW CAPTAIN TURNS THE SHIP

"On the political and economic front, we’re looking forward with confidence to the year ahead. After steady but satisfying progress from President Ramaphosa in rolling back years of systemic state capture, and the gradual removal from office of its many corrupt and inefficient beneficiaries, we believe South Africa is now on course for a period of increased growth in the future.

"There are bound to be many challenges ahead, but in our view, the ship has turned. We are now moving in the right direction.

"With the great success of the recent investment conference and pledges of billions of rands of direct foreign investment on the table, we believe it is only a matter of time before the country’s reputation with leading investment ratings agencies improves.

"Once the elections are behind us, we believe realism will replace rhetoric and the President’s commitment to job creation and economic growth will gain momentum, leading to an increase in GDP.

"Similarly, we look forward to the time when the highly charged political posturing around the question of land reform will be replaced with a clear and implementable policy that will help address the structural inequality of land ownership without compromising private property rights or the economic development of the country.

"In balance then, we are very optimistic about the future of the country – which is why we are busy finalising our plans for another series of exciting developments for next year. We will continue to push the boundary in terms of design and build quality, but at a price point that will once again offer investors and residents outstanding value for money."
