Today, over 34 percent of the US population (331 Million) is aged 50 and over. This group includes Baby Boomers (born between 1946-1964) and a portion of Generation X (born between 1965-1976).

April is Autism
Awareness Month
 
April is National Autism Awareness month. This campaign, launched in 1970, was designed to increase understanding and acceptance of individuals with autism. Autism spectrum disorder now affects 1 in 68 children. Boys are nearly 5 times more likely than girls to be diagnosed. Actress Laura Dern Kicks Off Lung Force 2021
 

American Lung Association is launching their annual fundraising walk event LUNG FORCE with Award winning actress Laura Dern leading the charge. For Dern, who lost her Grandfather and others to the disease, it's personal. "I want to ensure no one ever has to lose a loved one from lung cancer, and that’s why I walk with the American Lung Association’s LUNG FORCE.” To participate find out more here

Earth Day is
Going Digital
 
The theme of the 51st Earth Day on Thursday, April 22 is “Restore Our Earth.” Most years, Earth Day events range from in-person river cleanup, to roadside litter removal to garden and tree planting. This year, Earth Day will be going digital with Earth Day Live, a three-day online event starting April 20 offering environmental lectures and films focused on protecting, restoring and healing the Earth.
