WELLBEING
Uspire Boostcast

Since April the bi-weekly Uspire Boostcast has been delivering energising, inspirational and transformational guest stories to help people deal with the traumatic change that this pandemic has triggered. A driving force behind this challenging production schedule has been  the opportunity to raise a cash donation to the NHS, triggered by views of the Boostcast and supported by Edwards Lifescience.

We’ve brought you 25 hugely valueable episodes. Thirty-one incredibly engaging guests all with their own fascinating stories. And 11hrs 17 mins of Boostcast content. And we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that we have reached our funding target of £20,000 for the NHS. All thanks to you.

The Uspire team had the privilege of presenting the money to three separate Hospital Trusts, chosen by the Edwards' team,  Walsall in the West Midlands, Barts in Central London and St.George’s in Tooting. And all three has immediate plans to put the money to great use.

Walsall Hospital Trust

The donation to Walsall is particularly poignant as it was clinicians from this hospital that twice saved the life of Salim Khan, friend of Uspire and the Edwards Lifesciences sales person for that hospital.

Thankfully now recovered and able to personally present a cheque for £10,000, Salim was one-minute away from complete respiratory failure as he entered the ICU at Walsall Manor Hospital. It was the dedicated and relentless care Salim received in the ICU that eventually brought him out of danger and back to health.

Salim was able to meet the team that cared for him and was delighted to present them with money raised by views of the Uspire Boostcasts. The money is to be used in the rehabilitative and recovery care programmes and the hospital already have some exciting ideas about how it can be put to great use.

St. George's Hospital Trust

Staff and patient wellbeing is top of the agenda at St. George's, and the Boostcast money has helped provide a fantastic new outdoor "wellbeing" space that gives staff and patients a chance to rest, relax and unwind in a comfortable, airy, outdoor area.

Before the cash donation the outdoor space that has since been transformed was a lifeless, unloved and barren corner of the hospital, but an enterprising Physio from the hospital applied for a grant from the hospital charity to use the space for outdoor physio treatment. And the Upsire Boostcast cash arrived at just the right time to help transform the area.

Bart's Health NHS Trust

Bart's charity supports 5 NHS hospitals in Central London including the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel and Newham Hospital, serving one of the most hardest hit boroughs in UK for Covid-19.

In Bart's the Boostcast money will support their Covid-19 emergency appeal fund and in particular will be used in a new game-changing initiative to support the psychological welfare of their staff who have suffered mentally and physically during the Pandemic.

Business models are changing at pace as the pandemic drastically alters consumer needs and wants.  It is a leadership imperative to prepare your business for the future, to focus on the required business outcomes and ensure that more than one scenario is considered. The structure advocated by Uspire is based around the “four seasons of Covid recovery

The biggest challenge facing all leaders is how to steer their business through the new post-Covid landscape. The EPOCH anagram can act as a series of checklists to guide a leaders instincts toward understanding the importance of leadership equilibrium, or the balance between keeping your options open and empowering sufficient resources to take the appropriate short term actions.

We have laid out the “four seasons of Covid recovery” and explored how the “EPOCH of Rapid Recovery” is a great enabler of the right organisational design, leadership and short-term accelerated growth strategy. To ensure an organisation can sustain this growth throughout the later stages of Covid-recovery a high level plan is needed that is underpinned by a rigorous approach such as the Uspire SUCCESS model.

To support the development of a SUCCESS model this blogs helps you to fully consider your competitive position and how to create targeted initiatives.
