Gordon Advisors Response to the COVID-19 Outbreak

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread globally, we want to assure you that our team stands ready to serve you. As your trusted advisor, we want to communicate the importance of our Business Continuity Plan, which is designed to keep us proactive in our approach and response. Rest assured you can continue to rely on Gordon Advisors during this crisis and work with our expert team to quickly respond to changing IRS guidelines as needed. The following outlines how we are addressing service during this crisis.

Health and Safety

First off, the health and safety of our team, clients, and the community are our top priority. We have decided to no longer accept visitors in our work place in light of Governor Whitmer signing the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” Executive Order. We will follow State guidelines and keep you updated as to when we will resume in-person meetings. Your advisor is still ready and able to answer your questions via email and phone calls. We encourage you to continue working with your advisor to schedule a “virtual meeting”, either by phone or video conferencing, so we can continue to serve you and minimize health risk.

Continuity of Service

Our Gordon team is constantly monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) and regional and local government offices as well as related financial market news to provide advice for your financial needs.

Whether you are at home or remain working, you can rely on us for timely, financial advice and assistance. You can expect the same quality service you have always had from Gordon Advisors during these times of uncertainty, in a different manner.

Latest News – IRS Guidelines Modifications

It was announced last week that Tax Day has been postponed from April 15 to July 15 to coincide with the delayed tax payment deadline at the direction of President Trump. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced the postponement via Twitter and said all taxpayers and businesses will have until July 15 to file and make payments without interest or penalties.

Taxpayers expecting refunds are still encouraged to file as soon as possible to ensure a timely refund.

We are awaiting further guidance from the IRS and will keep you informed as this and other legislation continues to unfold over the coming weeks.

Several states have already modified payment and filing deadlines, and more are expected to follow. The State of Michigan has previously said that it would follow any tax relief granted by the IRS. As of now, we haven’t seen any formal guidelines from the State of Michigan – but we expect they will provide similar relief. Gordon Advisors will alert you of any updates as they are announced.

Gordon – your business, our team, great results – is not just a slogan, it’s our brand promise to you. Throughout these uncertain times, Gordon Advisors is prepared and ready to serve you.

We want to personally thank you for being a valued client and offer the commitment of our entire team. "Stay Home, Stay Safe."

Signed,
Gordon Advisors, P.C.
