Ana Cristina Cash '03 Releases New Album

Florencia Galarza '03 Shares a Pizza and a Smile

 

 

Florenica Galarza '03 partnered with Joe's Pizza NYC to hand our slices to the homeless in her local neighborhood. A portion of her futbol kit sales were used to buy 10 large pies. Joe's Pizza matched her purchase and donated an additional 20 more pies. She has also been doing monthly food drives, handing out her homemade empanadas to those in need!

May the 4th Be With You!

 

 

This week, we celebrated our first virtual Star Wars May the 4th event! Students used their creativity to design out of this universe artwork, tried space themed yoga poses, and even dressed up in their favorite Star Wars inspired outfits. The Force was strong in our Gulliver Jedis as they look to instill hope in our community on May the 4th, and every day.

 
 
In the Heights Cast Video

 

 

The Gulliver Prep Players were set to perform In the Heights at Pinecrest Gardens this Spring. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 crisis, the show was canceled. Gabrielle Hagenlocker '20 put together this video to commemorate the cast's journey, and give our community a glimpse of what we were unable to see. To watch, click on the button.
 
 
SomeGoodNews with John Krasinski
 
Actor John Krasinski has taken to YouTube to host SomeGoodNews -- a weekly show that highlights positive news from around the world amidst the Coronavirus pandemic. The 15-20 minute show has featured clips of how the world is thanking healthcare heroes and essential workers, celebrity guests like Martha Stewart and Steve Carell, and more. In one episode, Krasinksi even brought in the Jonas Brothers as he hosted his own Prom. Click on the button to watch SomeGoodNews.

Business Plan Challenge
 
Last week, the International Business and Entrepreneurship Signature Academic Program hosted the Sixth Annual Business Plan Challenge. This year's final round took place virtually as student teams took to Zoom to present their original business ideas. The winning team of Ale Antorcha '22, Marcelo Barrera '22, Michael Politis '22, and Matteo Wakeman '22 created Kairos, an app that helps students easily navigate the complex college financial aid process. Outstanding Performance for Middle School Jazz Band
 
The Middle School Jazz Band is a nationally-recognized group of musicians adhering to a performance-based curriculum. This ensemble participates in as many as fourteen main performances during the year, including community concerts and judged performances. The Middle School Jazz Band has scored Superior Ratings at Florida's Music Performance Assessments 11 year in a row, recently performed at the 71st Midwest Clinic, was invited to perform at JEN, and has won two DownBeat Student Music Awards in the last two years!

Coach Kelly answered questions about how his program is handling the unexpected changes brought on by COVID-19, how his staff is going about evaluating high school prospects, his advice to high school student-athletes and coaches during this period, and more.
