WY RESPONSIBLY.

As the state of Wyoming continues to monitor the rapidly evolving status of COVID-19, we want to take this time to keep everyone informed on the efforts we’re making to address the needs of our travelers, partners, stakeholders and residents.

At the Wyoming Office of Tourism, the well-being of our residents and visitors is our greatest priority. It is in our nature to be wild and free. And to do so safely, it is important that we all act and adventure responsibly. As such, we are working on new and thoughtful ways to promote Wyoming during this new reality and position our state for success now and well into the future.

Here are a few updates regarding our current status and efforts:
  • Due to the country's overwhelming need to address the immediate impact of COVID-19, WOT has decided to temporarily pause our summer advertising campaign, including all broadcast/connected TV, digital and paid social. National magazine, out-of-home and paid search will remain active.

  • We have reviewed all current messaging and have made updates to any copy that could be viewed as insensitive or cause a negative response.

  • To align co-op programs with WOT’s marketing plans, both Madden Media and Miles Partnership have been working closely with WOT to assure our partners investments maintain their greatest value, therefore these programs will be paused. This includes email advertising and delaying the spring newspaper insert drop. WOT recommends continuing search engine marketing and travelwyoming.com opportunities including partner advertisements, lead generation along with featured content and business listings as consumers may still be searching out travel inspiration for future trips

  • We are updating our messaging on our website (travelwyoming.com) and social media channels to keep our community informed, engaged and inspired to travel to Wyoming when it is appropriate to do so. We will be housing this additional content on travelwyoming.com themed WY Responsibly. The purpose of this page is to remind both residents leaving the state and visitors coming in that during times when public health is at risk, we encourage everyone to do their venturing with caution and care.
We understand that this issue is moving at a rapid pace and has far-reaching effects, touching every aspect of our state, lives and industry. Above all, we want to reassure you that the Wyoming Office of Tourism is poised to support you in your efforts to manage through this situation. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to you as we move forward.

Feel free to reach out to me at anytime. We are in this together and we are tourism strong!
