ULTRA events continued their relationship with Cape Towns' biggest dedicated comic convention, bringing comic book creators and cosplay artists together. Established in 2016, Fancon hosted their fourth annual event and returned for a fun-filled fan experience at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. ULTRA supplied AV, Lighting and Audio solutions for various rooms, and technical crew were on hand to assist with the panel discussions, presentations, cosplay competitions and more.
ULTRA events supported Bad Weather Productions with a full technical solution for a fashion show held at the Red And Yellow Creative School of Business. ULTRA provided a U-shaped ramp for the models and a center stage for the live bands. A JBL PRX system was used for the audio reproduction. Martin lights were incorporated in the lighting design along with an MA dot2 for control and a 3.9mm LED screen completed the visual package.

ULTRA partnered with the CTZF to celebrate the anniversary of Israels' establishment as a Jewish homeland. The entertainment was provided by The Zip Zap circus performers, and a concert which included rousing performances by the Khayelitsha United Mambazo Men’s Choir, the Bein Hashmashot Children’s Choir from Israel, and the Herzlia Vocal Ensemble led by Cantor Ivor Joffe. ULTRA supplemented the installed technical rig in the Zip Zap circus tent with additional lighting, microphones and monitoring on stage, and a complete power distribution system and generators.
Kwa Ace presented the May Day Revolution concert in Khayelitsha where, amongst others, DJ's and bands Yolanda Fyrus, Vj Jonno, Phira and Afrosoul performed with MC's Somizi & Prince Kett hyping the crowd throughout the event. ULTRA events supplied a 3-tiered stage with surrounding roof structure, JBL Vertec line array sound system, intelligent lighting, outdoor led screens with co2 cannons, sparkulars & gas flames completing the technical solution.

Annual celebration - Team With a new venue, comes a new challenge! After all the months and months of planning and preparation, it is all over I wish to thank each one of you, for making this event a resounding success. Nothing was too much trouble for you or your amazing team. Your professionalism as always was remarkable and the quality of the sound and lightning was incredible. In fact the Choir from Israel especially commented about the quality of the sound and how easy your team were to work with. Working with so many cast members was rather daunting, but you made this mammoth task manageable by ensuring that all the bases were covered and that all members of the “cast” were well looked after.
