WINE FESTIVAL

ULTRA Events was tasked with providing a technical solution for the Pick 'n Pay Wine festival, held at the beautiful Constantia Village Shopping mall. A JBL sound system was used with a Midas M32R mixing console for audio control. Entertainment was provided by Liam Culbert who kept the crowd entertained and dancing the evening away. Versalight UHP Parcans were utilised to uplight architectural elements throughout. The event saw 10 of Constantia’s top wineries showcase their products, along with Pick n Pay’s delicious winter steaks, curries, deli, seafood and vegetarian offerings, perfectly paired with the evening’s wines.

EXHIBITION

Leading South African artist-blacksmith, Conrad Hicks is exhibiting Implement, his new collection of hand-forged metal furniture and sculpture at his first solo show at the Southern Guild Gallery. ULTRA assisted at the launch by providing an audio visual solution for the screening of the 5 minitue biopic on Hicks' work, directed by Gavin Elder. A Christie 14k (14 000 ansilumen) HD projector was the preferred choice due to its incredibly high resolution, rich picture and flexibility in positioning.

CORPORATE COCKTAIL PARTY

ULTRA Events was entrusted to provide a lighting solution for the Ernst & Young post conference cocktail party, held at the new offices at the V&A Waterfront. Versalight Ultra High Power LED parcans were used throughout the different areas for architectural and mood lighting along with Longman LED batons. In the Foyer the LED parcans were used to create the look of the new rainbow coloured logo. Martin Mac Quantum Profiles were also used to project colourful gobo texture work on the walls, which created a spectacular entrance upon the guests arrival

INTERNATIONAL TOUR

Planetshakers returned to Every Nation church for the Cape Town leg of their international tour; "RAIN". The tour has a demanding technical aspect, featuring large-format LED screens, tour-quality Sound and Lighting requirements, and a gamut of control and performance equipment. ULTRA continued their relationship, and delivered above the expectations of the touring crew.
