The United States and Mexico have signed a new binational agreement known as Minute 333, establishing a detailed plan to address the toxic sewage crisis that has polluted the Tijuana River Valley and repeatedly closed beaches in Imperial Beach and Coronado.

California Coastal Commission Unanimously Approves National City Balanced Plan

The California Coastal Commission has voted unanimously to certify a Port Master Plan Amendment (PMPA) for what’s known as the National City Balanced Plan, an important milestone in plans by the Port of San Diego and City of National City to expand park space and public access, as well as improve commercial recreation and maritime uses on the National City Bayfront.
 

 

 
 
 
 

Mayor Todd Gloria Announces New Appointments to City of San Diego’s Boards and Commissions

Following City Council approval, Mayor Todd Gloria recently announced these new appointments and reappointments to serve in key roles on the City’s Boards and Commissions. Check the Boards and Commissions webpage to learn about vacancies and apply for a position. 
 
 

Electric Micromobility Vehicle Ordinance Begins

As of December 3, Chula Vista’s new Electric Micromobility Vehicle Ordinance is officially in effect. This ordinance was adopted by the City Council to improve safety, clarify where electric bikes and scooters can be used, and ensure everyone sharing the road understands
the rules. .
 

 

 
 
 

City Holiday Closures and Trash Collection Schedule

The City will observe the Christmas holiday on Wednesday, December 24, and Thursday, December 25. City offices, the Community Center, the John D. Spreckels Center, and the Coronado Public Library will be closed. Please check the Recreation website for the full schedule of programs and services for the holiday week.
