ICORT is just around the corner!

The Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism (ICORT) is an exceptional opportunity to learn about and network with other recreation and tourism professionals. ICORT is designed for destination marketing organizations and tourism-related businesses in Idaho — from restaurants, hotels, breweries and wineries to retail stores, museums, outfitters, parks and any attraction who interacts with and engages Idaho’s many visitors.

Afternoon walking tours on Monday will introduce attendees to wineries, breweries and cultural and culinary offerings in Garden City. (Tours are filling fast. Register now!)

General sessions will focus on the latest US Travel Study results; Visit Idaho's vision for the upcoming year; Idaho's 2023 Dean Runyan economic impact study results; and inspirational thoughts from a marketing professional.

Breakouts include a panel with Visit Idaho staff with tips on how to maximize your content creation and distribution; funding options beyond the ITC grant program; and an interactive exchange with exhibitors to answer your questions about their programs and your needs.

federal scenic byways grants

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is announcing that applications are open for the National Scenic Byways Program. The National Scenic Byways Program is a grass-roots collaborative effort established to help recognize, preserve, and enhance roads throughout the United States designated as America’s Byways.

This funding opportunity will result in the award of up to $26.95 million in grants to States and federally recognized Tribes to implement eligible projects on highways designated as National Scenic Byways, All-American Roads (collectively America’s Byways®), State scenic byways, or Indian Tribe scenic byways; and plan, design, and develop a State or Indian Tribe scenic byway program.

Applications for the NSPB 2024 Grants NOFO must be submitted electronically through grants.gov no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Be Outside, Idaho! Grants

The Be Outside, Idaho organization is excited to announce that the 2024-2025 grant cycle is now open to interested applicants. The grant is open to groups and individuals aimed at getting children outdoors. This includes teachers, librarians, daycare facilities, and more. The grant deadline is November 1, 2024.

Application Deadline: NOVEMBER 1, 2024, 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time
SUBMIT TO: Skylar Jett, IDRecreationTourism@gmail.com
Maximum amount awarded: $2,500
This grant operates on a reimbursement basis only.

Be Outside, Idaho does not fund transportation costs, entrance fees, food costs, school tracks/gyms, permanent personnel salaries, or t-shirts/promotional items. While permanent staff cannot be funded through this grant, funding may be allocated for specialized roles that are critical to the project’s success. These include interns, Master Naturalists, and other qualified specialists who will contribute to activities such as research, fieldwork, community engagement, and educational initiatives.

IDAHO LODGING TAX COLLECTIONS

In August 2024, lodging tax collections were up 2.59% compared to August 2023. Overall collections reflect a 1.75% increase year over year.
